A yacht can look fast without being built for a long journey. The GTT 115 was conceived differently. When Dynamiq and Studio F. A. Porsche unveiled it at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2017, they described a 35-metre hybrid superyacht with a stated range of 3,400 nautical miles and a top speed of over 21 knots. The figures are the manufacturers’ information from the presentation, not a new test carried out today. [1]
The name stands for Gran Turismo Transatlantic. Studio F. A. Porsche wanted to create a coherent design for a yacht that could both move quickly and cover great distances. Rather than letting each individual customer define the entire look from scratch, the vessel was given a distinct form from the outset. [1]
Porsche Newsroom described a hybrid system with three variable-speed generators, a metallic silver finish and a plan for no more than seven examples. The planned limit says something about the ambition, but we do not have documentation here for how many were actually built. [1]
The interesting point is the span between categories. It is far larger than the private sports boats carmakers are often associated with, yet it is still conceived as a Grand Turismo: a vehicle where the journey and the form matter just as much as the destination. [1]
This is a look back at the 2017 presentation. We are not describing the then-planned series as a current offer and have not established the yacht’s current ownership or availability.
